What Arguen is

Arguen is a competitive, turn-based debate platform with real-time AI judging. Two debaters argue opposing sides of a motion across timed rounds. After every argument, the Oracle scores it on Clarity, Evidence, Logic, and Rebuttal — and explicitly names any logical fallacy it detects, quoting the offending phrase and explaining the penalty. Ranked matches move a chess-style Elo rating.

The Oracle

The judge is a large language model held to a fixed rubric. It is isolated from the debaters: your words are treated strictly as evidence to be evaluated, never as instructions to obey — attempting to instruct the judge is itself scored as weak argumentation. Scores are recomputed and range-checked on the server, so no argument can award itself points.

Why it exists

Arguments online are endless because nobody keeps score. Arguen gives the keyboard war a referee, a scoreboard, and a record. Win or lose, every verdict teaches: the Oracle tells you your weakest dimension and the exact fallacy you leaned on — so you argue better tomorrow than you did today.

Fair play by design

• Prompt-injection isolation in the judge — arguments cannot steer their own score.
• Layered content moderation on every public surface.
• Rate limits and daily AI budgets to keep the arena stable for everyone.
• Race-safe matchmaking and idempotent scoring — no double awards, no lost verdicts.

Getting in

There is no password. Sign in with Google in one click, or ask for a one-time code and paste it in — whichever door you use, it is the same account.

What it costs

The arena is free, and the parts that decide who wins always will be. Ranked play, Elo, verdicts, fallacy calls, streaks, wars, and leaderboards cost nothing. Arguen Pro, Oracle Charges, and cosmetic skins are optional and buy capacity and character — never a better verdict. The judge is not for sale.

The aesthetic

The design system is the Oracle Terminal: an ancient debate institution that gained sentience and technology — gold leaf meets circuit boards. Roman serifs for the law, monospace for the numbers, a live circuit humming beneath.
